Donkeys Pass (Passo Degli Asinelli)
Razzoli Island is separated from the nearby Santa Maria by a narrow stretch of water about ten metres wide, and shallow enough to have allowed donkeys to cross with provisions for the keeper of the lighthouse and his family in the days when the wind made landing difficult at Cala Lunga. This is where the name Passo degli Asinelli (Donkey Pass) comes from.
