Spargi Island

The granitic island of Spargi, is the largest among the four minor ones of the archipelago; known for its oriental side beaches, it has a surface of 4,20 Km2 and it is the third one by extension of all the territory. The entire area, ranging a quote of 153 meters from sea level. Spargi island is the favorite destination of many rare species of birds and Mediterranean fishes. This island is characterized from the majesty of its granite rocks and the presence of ancient shipwrecks in the sea bottom, such as the remains of a Roman ship, kept now in the naval museum at the Island of La Maddalena. A famous rock that you can see in Spargi is the “Testa della Strega” (Witch Head), arock sculpted by wind and water whose profile seems to be a witch. Another famous rock is “ cane Bulldog” a rock that has the shape of a Bulldog.
